Please note that we ask you to wash (not dry) all the bed linen, towels etc you have used, so return flights should be in the late afternoon/evening to allow time to do this...  Please check with us before booking flights.

One or maybe two airports should  be considered -

​

Oslo Gardemoen - where Ryan Air fly to from various Uk airports as well as BA and SAS.

​

You will need the VY app to plan your travel on bus and train and taxi in norway.. 

​

On arrival at Gardemoen one can either take a train into Oslo Central station (20 mins or so) and then a train to Moss (40 mins) followed by a taxi to the house (7 mins) (200 Nkr), or a walk to the town (10 mins) and a bus to the top of the road by the Spar and walk down (10 mins).

Or  get the Flybsusexpress (run every hour) from Gardemoen ( 1 hr 20 min ) and get off at Moss Hoyden,  Ryggevein, where you can call for a taxi are taxi and it is 7/8 mins  (approx 180 Nkr)  to the house or a 25 minute walk to the house..

Approx journey time to the house is just under two hours  and will cost  310 Nkr per person plus any taxi fares.

Please note that there is a new tunnel being built in the Moss area and the whole railway system is being up graded.  Sometimes in  July at least buses will often be replacing the trains, but they are very quick and efficiently run.

Oslo Torp Airport where Ryan Air fly into from various airports in the UK. ,   This airport is a small airport on the other side of the fjord from the house so one comes over on the ferry.

Torp to Hoten

There is  no longer a minibus service but if there are 4 of you , a taxi is approx 1000Nkr if pre booked at  https://www.paulsenbuss.no/horten-torp-horten

There are other ways to get to Horten using bus, train and or coach, but you will have to explore these for yourself as the route varies according to the time of day.

Horten to Moss - Basto Ferry is very regular and a lovely trip over seeing the House from the sea.  http://basto-fosen.no/?lang=en_GB   It is FREE for foot passengers and cyclists!  Crossing takes about 40 mins

Moss to the House -  10 mins in taxi (approx £190 Nkr)  from the station which is 5 mins walk from the Ferry terminal,   or walk up into the town and get bus to the Spar Shop which is 10 mins from the house downhill! or a 35/40 minute walk.... (there is a route not on the main road which is quicker- details in the red book or ask for them)

Cars can be hired at the airports or in the towns,  but shops are within walking distance and bikes can be made available.
